Linear Templates

We’ve shipped an update to our Linear integration to make it even more powerful for your support team, and improve how they collaborate with your product team. Linear templates can now be used when creating issues from Plain.

changelog hero image

If you’ve created templates for issues in your Linear workspace, you can now choose the templates you’d like to use when creating a new issue from a Plain thread. This update helps you get more consistent with how you manage bugs, feature requests, or engineering tickets and ensures they’re presented in the way that’s most useful for your product team.

When creating a Linear issue, just hit “No template” and choose the template you want to use. Templates are persisted, so the last selected template will be the default when creating new issues from Plain.

See full details in our Linear integration in our docs.

Improvements

  • You can now start a thread for any customer Slack channel directly from Plain

  • You can now set your full name and public name in your personal profile settings

  • Added priority as a condition on auto-responses

  • Slack discussion channel dropdown now defaults to the first channel in the list and remembers your previous choice

  • When you go to write a new email (rather than a reply) we now focus on the subject first instead of jumping straight to the message

  • CMD + A will now select all threads in a queue (not including queues with done threads)

  • We improved our validation errors to show what actually failed

  • If a customer belongs to a single tenant, when a thread is created for that customer, the thread will automatically be mapped to that customer's tenant. In the past, this would only happen if the tenant was linked to a tier

  • Improved optimistic messages in chat, making the experience smoother for folks sending multiple messages in quick succession

  • Added background color in live chat widget

  • Microsoft Teams now supports Code blocks

  • Microsoft Teams messages now support formatting

  • Microsoft Teams messages are now available for search

Bug Fixes

  • The composer is now prevented from sending any messages while attachments are being uploaded

  • Channel filters now work in saved views

  • Correct URL is now generated when adding tenants as favorites

  • Autoresponders via email now respond not only to the sender of the email, but also any additional recipients in the original email

  • The inline emoji palette now works inside bullet lists

  • Updated an error notification in saved views when you try to save a view without giving it a name

  • You can now use the the r shortcut to expand the composer when writing a new email

  • Done filters now don’t show up on the tenant page when you’ve filtered Done threads off

  • Added a max height to the dropdown components so it won't go offscreen when you have a certain amount of thread fields

  • Underline is now supported when adding a Linear issue
